Warband!!!!

So, after many hours of agony and annoyance, i FINALLY have warband! let me give you the short version of the story. Warband was on a super sale, and it was 7 bucks. so We had multiple computers, we wanted to put it on a different one, and bla blah blah.  so the thing is that i had to try and create multiple steam accounts, cuz i couldn't log into my active one. and the reason for that is that  I wasn't getting any of the emails that you ned to activate your account, and steam pretty much shut me out.
and the reason why that doesn't really make any sense is cuz I don't want to talk about that. (That was 7 hours in a 92 degrees room)
BUT! I HAVE TO TALK ABOUT WARBAND!!!
So, for the M&B series, i have a small rule. the first time you play the game, you can use as much cheats as you want. So within 2 hours I was already establishing my own Kingdom (the republic of Marzak). Now, the amazingly awesome thing about this game.. is.... well... there is a TON of things about this game that is more awesome than the first one. So, for one, the kingdom bit. When you start your kingdom (by taking over a castle or town when not attachted to a faction) you an choose the name for it. then, after you take over more castles, you can assign them to your Lords. how do you get lords? one of two ways. One, you can convince the other Lords, and Counts, or whatever to join your side... or... YOU CAN MAKE YOUR HEROES LORDS! I'm sorry but this just made me happy. I enjoyed this part so much that i went to every single city in the game  to recruit more of them. then I gave them armored heraldic thingies to make them look official, and stuff. then i just give them really good troops (But they can make their own armies themselves). The new armor looks UHMAZING, and way better than the old one. well, ive been writing this for a while. ill post more later.

So, i may not get to play M&B for a few days, so I will explain my strategies for a little bit. For mercenaries, i usually have about 10 mercenary crossbowmen with me, 15 watchmen, and five caravan guards. this is a basic starting mercenary army. If you are going up against looters, just attack with everyone. but for pretty much everything else, heres what to do.
SCENARIO
your small mercenary army has caught up with the 17 sea raiders you had been chasing all day. Finally it was time for battle. you should position your mercenary crossbowmen on the nearest hill that you find, and right below them, you put your infantry. you tell your caravan guard to follow you, so they don't run straight in and die right away, and then you and your cavalry charge once your crossbowmen start shooting at the enemy. then, once you even out the enemy team, order your watchmen to charge.
thats the most basic strategy in the book. and it works amazingly too.
Now, i will tell you some common knowledge, and some not-so-obvious facts about mercenaries.
1: they cost a lot of money to recruit, so don't just get merc's for your first troops.
2: if you want a sizable army of mercenaries, you will need from about 6000 to 10000 Denars before starting your recruitment.
3: recruiting merc's is a hassle. for one, you can only go to cities to recruit them, and they are far apart. sometimes you won't even find the ones you want in the city tavern.
4: even if they look good, they really aren't. I mean, yea, mercenaries are pretty good soldiers, but you lose a lot of them quickly. especially with watchmen, so don't ONLY get them.
5:Mercenary swordsmen are a very good infantry troop. they are cheaper than hired blades, and waaaay better than watchmen on ANY day. so don't rely on your watchmen too much.
6; Hired blades are not as good as everyone says they are. I lost less swadian seargents in the same battles that i ran SS and HB. but they are a very good troop choice.
thats all for the moment. ill keep blabbering on later if i get the chance.

The first week

William Marshal the conqueror set out into Calradia (spelling?) in the search of glory and riches. although he arrived with a pretty purse, the first few men her hired drained most of his money, although they were good. In the Town of Praven, he hired 7 watchmen to follow him. This is where our story begins.

Actually, now I will explain everything. I, William Marshal (My real name!) am a mercenary lover. Ever since I found this game online I was addicted to the mercs. So for this Hero I created, I decided to make an all mercenary army. The first thing I did was get lots of watchmen. I didn't want to go straight into the arms of a faction, so I'm just a mercenary. I will not be a vassal, only a mercenary. So i did a lot of grinding for about an hour after i recruited Lezilit to help with training so my men level up faster. I had like... 15 watchmen and 6 caravan guards for my first battle against sea raiders. I of course had given lezilit a horse so he could help me with the initial charge. there was 13 sea raiders against us, and overall we did pretty good. we didn't loose anybody, in fact we rescued 5 caravan guards from them. And i thought sea raiders didn't attack caravans! So me and Lezilit got better armor, and we now look bad a$$.  I had enough money to recruit 8 more watchmen! I also got three mercenary swordsmen from leveling up my soldiers. I kept getting money from caravans i robbed. I always rob the nords because I hate them. the reason being my First hero I created trained tons of troops for a week (of legit time) and I had become a vassal of king Ragnar. But then i attacked an enemy City (Suno).  I lost everyone but a few Nord Huscarls, but at least i get a city right? No. King Ragnar says that a small village that is poor an neglected that gets loote every day is better htan a city, so he keeps it for himself. I will bring more in the coming days! stay tuned!
